Timos is an instant messaging application that lets you find and contact other users through a unique Timos ID, and provides text messaging, voice calls, video calls, file transfer, and other related features.
Parts of Timos use end-to-end encryption (E2EE). For details on how data is processed and how privacy is protected, please see the Timos Privacy Policy.
You must be at least 16 years old to register and use Timos; if the applicable law sets a higher minimum age or other conditions, the local law prevails.
When registering for Timos, you must provide a real, valid email address that you control and complete identity verification through that email. You are responsible for safeguarding your account and login credentials and must not impersonate others or use another person's account.
If you do not meet the age or registration requirements above, please do not register or use Timos.
If you provide an email address that is false, inaccurate, or not under your control, Timos may refuse to provide the service, suspend, or terminate the relevant account.
By clicking "Agree and Continue," "Sign Up," or any other button that clearly indicates your acceptance of these Terms, completing account registration, or starting to use the Timos service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and the Timos Privacy Policy.
These Terms are concluded and stored electronically. Your confirmations, selections, or clicks made through the app, website, or other electronic means constitute your agreement to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms or the Timos Privacy Policy, please stop registering and stop using the Timos service.
You are responsible for safeguarding your account, registered email, login credentials, and the device you use with Timos, and for all actions taken through your account, except where caused by Timos or otherwise provided by applicable law.
You must not:
If you violate these Terms, the relevant community rules, or applicable law, Timos may take measures such as warnings, feature restrictions, account suspension, or account termination depending on the violation.
Timos is currently provided free of charge; users do not need to pay any fees to use Timos's features.
UGC means content that users create, upload, set, or publish while using the Timos service and that is accessible by Timos or other users, such as avatars, display names, bios, and other public or accessible profile data.
Timos's E2EE private chat messages, voice calls, video calls, and file transfers are encrypted end-to-end on users' devices. Since Timos does not hold the corresponding decryption keys, Timos cannot access, read, or review their content.
Report materials actively submitted by users are report and safety-governance information, and Timos may review and process them to the extent necessary to handle reports, maintain platform safety, and fulfill legal obligations.
You must not use Timos to publish, spread, or engage in the following content or conduct:
Timos provides in-app Report and Block features.
You can report offending users or content through the chat interface, the user profile page, or by email to [email protected], and you can block other users at any time to reduce or stop them from contacting you on Timos.
Because Timos uses an end-to-end encryption (E2EE) architecture and does not hold the decryption keys for users' private chat content, Timos cannot access, read, decrypt, or scan E2EE private chat content on the server side.
If you actively report content in E2EE private chats and submit screenshots, screen recordings, text explanations, or other relevant evidence, Timos may review the materials you actively submit and take appropriate measures in accordance with these Terms and applicable law.
For accessible content that violates these Terms or applicable law, Timos may, depending on the severity of the violation, delete, hide, restrict the spread of, restrict the use of features related to, suspend, or permanently close the relevant account.
For content or reports involving CSAM/CSAE, Timos will investigate and handle them in accordance with the law, and will report to NCMEC or relevant authorities where required by applicable law or reporting obligations.
Based on the nature and severity of the violation, Timos may impose temporary restrictions, suspend the account, or permanently close the account. For serious violations such as conduct that seriously endangers child safety, fraud, serious harassment, threats, malicious attacks, or evading platform safety measures, Timos may permanently close the account directly.
If you believe your account was restricted, suspended, or closed in error, you can submit an appeal through the in-app appeals feature or by email to [email protected], providing your registered email and the necessary explanation.
To protect platform safety, Timos may not disclose specific risk-control rules, detection logic, or internal review standards. Where serious security risks, child safety, fraud, or legal requirements are involved, Timos may restrict related account functions during an investigation.
The minimum age to use Timos is 16. Persons under 16 may not register or use Timos; if the applicable law sets a higher minimum age or other requirements, the applicable law prevails.
Timos strictly prohibits any content or conduct involving child sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, the grooming of children, or other conduct that harms child safety.
Because Timos uses end-to-end encryption (E2EE) technology and does not hold the corresponding decryption keys, Timos cannot access, read, decrypt, or scan E2EE private chat content on the server side. Violations involving child safety can be reported through the in-app reporting feature or by email to [email protected]. For report materials actively submitted by users and public materials accessible to Timos, we will review and handle them in accordance with the law and report to NCMEC or relevant authorities where required by applicable law or reporting obligations.
Timos chat messages and calls use end-to-end encryption (E2EE). The relevant decryption keys are controlled by users' devices, and Timos does not hold keys that can decrypt users' private chat content.
Due to this encryption architecture, Timos cannot recover chat records that become inaccessible as a result of device loss, device replacement, uninstall/reinstall, deletion of local data, or loss of E2EE keys. You should safeguard your devices and any data you need to retain.
If you lose a device, complete login verification on a new device as soon as possible using your registered email. Under the current product architecture, one account can maintain only one session on a phone or computer at a time; after a new device completes login verification, the session on previously logged-in devices will expire and sign out.
Timos cannot provide data recovery for data loss caused by the device, operating system, user error, key loss, or other user-side reasons.
The intellectual property rights in the Timos application, software, trademarks, interface, code, and services owned by Timos belong to Timos Labs Pte. Ltd. or its licensors. Except as expressly authorized in these Terms, no intellectual property license is granted to you.
You retain ownership and all other lawful rights in the user content you create, upload, or set. You grant Timos a limited license to use, store, copy, display, and transmit the relevant user content to the extent necessary to provide, operate, maintain, and protect the Timos service.
For report materials you actively submit, this license is used solely for the necessary purposes of handling reports, content review, platform safety governance, and fulfilling legal obligations.
For chat messages, call content, and files transmitted through E2EE, Timos does not hold the decryption keys required to read, decrypt, or analyze their content. To provide the communication service, Timos only relays, transmits, and temporarily stores encrypted communication data to the extent necessary. Because of the E2EE encryption architecture, Timos cannot access, read, or decrypt communication content.
For user profile information such as avatars, display names, and bios, as well as report materials you actively submit, Timos may store, display, review, and process the relevant content to the extent necessary to provide, operate, maintain, and protect the Timos service, including handling user reports, ensuring platform safety, and fulfilling legal obligations.
Timos will not use the above content for advertising, sale, or other independent commercial purposes unrelated to the Timos service, unless otherwise authorized or provided by law.
For content that is no longer needed and is not subject to any legal or safety retention requirement, Timos will delete or anonymize it in accordance with these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
Timos's processing of personal data is governed by the Timos Privacy Policy, which is an integral part of these Terms. Please read the Privacy Policy carefully before using the Timos service.
We may update these Terms in response to changes in the service, legal requirements, safety needs, or platform rules. Material changes will be notified through in-app notices, website announcements, or other reasonable means. Where applicable law requires us to re-obtain consent, we will take the measures required by law.
If you do not agree to the amended provisions, you may stop using the service and delete your account. To the extent permitted by applicable law, continuing to use the Timos service after the update takes effect means you accept the amended provisions. We do not use contractual updates to exclude or limit any mandatory rights you enjoy under applicable law.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, if your intentional or gross negligence in violating these Terms or applicable law, or your infringement of third-party intellectual property, privacy, reputation, or other lawful rights, directly causes Timos to suffer third-party claims, reasonable and provable legal costs, or direct losses, you shall bear reasonable responsibility to the extent permitted by law.
This clause does not apply to losses arising from Timos's own conduct, violations of statutory obligations, or other responsibilities that may not be transferred to users under the law.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Timos service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet any particular purpose, nor do we warrant that there is no risk in users' conduct toward one another or in user-generated content.
Timos is not responsible for private transactions, promises, relationships, or offline conduct between users. Because E2EE private chat content cannot be accessed, read, or decrypted by Timos, Timos cannot directly review such private chat content or assess its truthfulness, legality, or safety. Users should use Timos at their own discretion and can use the Report and Block features to manage related risks.
Timos does not provide police, fire, medical, or other emergency services. If you face physical danger or another emergency, contact local emergency services directly.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Timos shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including, but not limited to, data loss, loss of goodwill, or loss arising from service interruption) arising from the use of or inability to use the service.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the total cumulative liability of Timos to you for claims arising out of or related to these Terms arising from your use of the free Timos service shall not exceed 100 Singapore dollars (100 SGD).
This clause does not exclude or limit the mandatory legal liability that Timos may not exclude under the law (including liability arising from Timos's own willful misconduct or gross negligence), nor does it affect any non-waivable consumer statutory rights you have under applicable law.
If service interruption, delay, or failure to perform arises from events beyond Timos's reasonable control, including major cyberattacks, cloud or telecommunications operator failures, third-party infrastructure failures, war, natural disasters, government actions, major cybersecurity incidents, or other events that cannot be reasonably foreseen, avoided, or overcome, Timos shall not be liable for the resulting service interruption or delay to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Timos will take reasonable measures to restore the service and mitigate the impact where reasonably possible.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rights you have under applicable law.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the courts of Singapore have jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Timos service.
This clause does not limit your right to seek statutory remedies in the courts, regulatory authorities, or other competent bodies of your place of residence under applicable law.
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable by a competent court, that provision shall remain in effect to the maximum extent permitted by law; if it cannot remain in effect, it shall be severed to the extent necessary without affecting the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.
You must not use or transfer the Timos service in a way that violates applicable export controls, economic sanctions, trade restrictions, or other relevant laws and regulations.
If applicable law prohibits providing the service to specific countries, regions, persons, or entities, you must not use Timos to the extent prohibited by the relevant law.
These Terms, the Timos Privacy Policy, and the specific rules that Timos expressly provides and applies to specific features together constitute the entire agreement between you and Timos regarding your use of the Timos service.
Where there is a conflict between the above documents or rules on the same matter, the express rules for the specific feature prevail for that specific feature; however, no provision or rule may exclude or limit your non-waivable rights under applicable law.
